The gunship entered the hot and dry atmosphere with a shudder. The vehicle creaked and rumbled as Hak and the few clone troopers stood in silence, awaiting insertion.
Hak could barely hear the voice of the pilot calling out to him above all of the chaos outside combined with the sound of the ship's engines.
"Alright sir! We're coming up on the drop point! Prepare fo-" the pilot was cut off as the doors opened and the ambient noise of battle drowned him out completely, but Hak got the idea.
The gunship descended to a low altitude as the commando jumped from the cabin onto the red sands that now stained his boots, previously foreign to all terrain but the watery platforms of Kamino. The other troopers followed suit, but one was picked off mid jump by a Geonosian.
"So, this is war...I like it!" muttered Hak.
He proceeded with his objective to rendezvous with his squad.
"Gamma lead, this is your advisor speaking, please proceed down the trenches to your left. The rest of Gamma will meet you there." said his radio in a voice not that different from his own.
"Copy that advisor. I'm moving to the RV point now."
Suddenly the gunship, as it began to lift away, came crashing down in flames from where it hovered. One of the regular troopers was pinned under the flaming wreck, and another tried to help him. Another checked the pilots, and a third man yelled "INCOMING!" as he was gunned down by several Geonosians.
Hak drew his DC-17 rifle and gunned down two Geonosians and melee attacked another. When his brief tussle was finished, he turned to assist the remaining troopers liberate their brother, only to be thrown off his feet by the gunship as it exploded. All of the others had been fried in the blast.
-Other end of the trenches, simultaneous to aforementioned events-
The gunship descended and three commandos deployed from the troop cabin, followed by two troopers.
"Gamma, this is your advisor speaking, please rendezvous with Gamma lead, he'll be with you shortly." said a small voice in the helmets of all three commandos.
"I'll just be glad if he manages to get his lazy shebs here without getting blown up first and in one piece..." said a grumpy Slash, who had missed his morning caf before the rapid deployment. Not that his mood was much different from how it normally was.
"Watch that disrespect commando, Hak will be here any minute, and the last thing we want is for him to have to show you why he's the leader again." said Shank, half irritated with his brother.
"Pfft, let him hear it, I only lost last time cuz-THAT'S NOT YOUR BUSSINESS ANYWAYS DI'KUT! But tell me, how does your precious Hak's boots taste, you lick them quite often."
"ALL RIGHT, YOU WANNA START SOMETHING BUDDY?! I'll drop you, even if we are in the field!"
"Enough! You two di'kute are always pretending to be macho. We've got a job to do! And need I remind you, it will take all four of us to fight through the security defenses outside the compound?" Said Razor, the usually silent but violent type.
"Ok ok, I'll show you who's the real man in this squad later. Where's lead anyway?" said Slash, beginning to realize he was about to lose. Razor has a knack for putting the others in their place with a violent glare.
"Advisor said that he's at the other end of these trenches, he's got to clear a barricade to get to us and to allow some other men to flank the droid lies. If you were listening for even half of the briefing mid-transit, you'd know that." said Shank.
"Well that's what we have you for, Shank, to be the redundant stick in the mud." said Slash.
"Some days Slash, I swear..."
"You'll miss me one day."
"Stow it you guys! We got company!" exclaimed Razor.
The three looked to barricades the two troopers had been covering as they bickered like children, and saw super battle droids breaking through.
"CLANKERS! TAKE'EM OUT!" yelled Shank.
The three of them rushed to take out the droids, and assist the troopers.
