                                                                        -CORUSCANT, ARCA COMPANY BARRACKS-

ARC Captain Renegade walked briskly down the hall of the ARCA Company Barracks towards the briefing room. He had an "important task" to brief a specific commando squad on. Nothing out of the ordinary for him. All he knew was his commanding officer, Seth Aurek-Tay, a young Mandalorian who had grown up with the ARC troopers on Kamino under Jango Fett's and Oswald Davijiin's tutelage, had specifically selected him for the task and he had no idea why. Perhaps he'd taken a shining to Renegade, he'd always gotten along well with Renegade more than a few other ARCs during training. Either way, he needed to get to the briefing room and get his job done. He longed for the front lines, but for now, he'd do his share of paper pushing around command.

Captain Renegade entered the briefing room through the sliding door. He looked at his data pad.

"Erm...let's see...um, Gamma Squad is it? Ah, Gamma. Hello there Gamma! You've been personaly tasked by a certain Commander Seth Aurek-Tay due to your exceptional skills on previous missions that he apparently witnessed first hand. Your mission is to extract two high priority targets from a remote outpost on Rhen Var. Republic forces at the outpost were recently overrun by a Separatist force so large that they were forced to evacuate before they were terminated. All personnel were thought to have been evacuated and accounted for until a distress signal was received by the evacuated forces once they exited hyperspace. It appears that...oh...it appears that Commander Aurek-Tay's younger sister and a companion of hers stowed away to get action on the front but ended up on a remote outpost. They were left behind because they were not officially on record as being deployed to Rhen Var. They've been stranded behind enemy lines. Before Republic Forces can invade, you've been tasked to rescue them before the orbital bombardments commence. This means you will only have an extremely limited amount of time Gamma. Are we clear? Any questions?"

"Uh...yeah, why did you read that like it was an exciting drama on the holovids? Are you a kriffing protocol droid?" said Slash unamused.

"Slash, behave yourself! He's a bloody captain!" said Shank condescendingly.

"Uh...sorry, I don't see much action, so mission specs interest me. Paper pushing and briefing is a boring job..." said Renegade, a bit bashful.

"Thank you captain, we're ready to move out." said Hak, "sorry for any um...awkwardness?"

"Not a problem sergeant." said Renegade.

"Gamma Squad! Move out!" said Hak authoritatively.

Gamma Squad moved out the door of the briefing room and towards their quarters. They began gearing up and gathering supplies, thus proceeding to the hangar where an LAAT/i gunship awaited them.

"Let's see this distress signal, shall we Gamma?" said Hak to his squad, pulling a holoprojector from his pack and casting it down in front of them. He played the designated file listed on the datapad that contained any remaining mission specs that they  needed to know.

The holoprojector fizzled to life with a rough hologram depicting a girl, clearly young, clad in Mandalorian armor, not dissimilar from Commander Aurek-Tay's armor, clutching another young girl to herself, who was freezing from the inhospitably icy weather of Rhen Var. They were in some sort of makeshift shelter in a small alcove that they had dug out of the snow. There was a small tibana heater providing light and warmth for them, but they wouldn't last. The mando girl had armor that could seal out cold temporarily, but the other girl was clearly frostbitten.

"H-hello? Is anyone o-out there?" said a hoarse and wheezy voice emanating from the mando girl, worn from the cold. "T-this is-cough-Gushiri Aurek-Tay...if anyone is listening, my friend-cough-Yana Rostoni and I are stuck on Rhen Var...droids just invaded and the Republic forces we stowed away with evacuated...we got left behind, and we had to run to not be found by the droids. We're freezing quickly, we won't make it if no one comes soon. I'm doing all I can to keep us alive, but Yana's unconscious and I'm fading fast. I-if anyone's listening...I don't know our coordinates and I can't broadcast them or the droids will get us, but please...help."

"Poor whelps...shoulda stayed on TripZip..." said Slash nonchalantly.

"Have you no sympathy di'kut?! Those are children dying out there!" yelled an emotionally charged Shank.

"I mean, they're technically older than us...sooo..." said Slash, unmoved.

"Dammit Slash! I'll throttle you!" yelled Shank, lunging at Slash.

"GENTLEMEN! Calm down, we have a job to do!" yelled Hak in annoyance, "Regardless of what either of you think, those are two defenseless girls out there, dying terribly in the cold, and it's our job to do what's right and bring them back, to stand up for those who can't! And before you ask why Commander Aurek-Tay isn't doing this himself is because he's dispatched on another campaign presently, and they wouldn't give him clearance to leave. He picked US. For whatever reasons, he trusts US! He hand picked us. He's taken some sort of liking to us, and if it weren't for him, the four of us would be laying in severed heaps on Geonosis. We owe this to him. Now let's get on that gunship and get en route! Who's with me?!"

There was a sort of awkward pause after Hak's motivational speech. Shank just punched Slash without looking away from Hak, "I'm with you sir!"

Slash rubbed his shoulder and nodded with an, "I guess so..."

Razor simply gave an affirmative thumbs up.

With that, Gamma Squad loaded up and moved out for their second mission. The gunship took them to a frigate in space, and they made the Jump to Rhen Var.

the next mission of Gamma Squad, my Republic Commando OCs.
